I’ve been photographing elopements for 8 years and have found some incredible places in the greater Asheville area that make the perfect backdrop for your special day. So, let me share the top ten places to elope in this enchanting city. 

Do note: some places, such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, require a permit and a 30-day notice for all wedding/elopement/vow exchange permit applications. Each permit is $100. 

1. Biltmore Estate: A Grand Elopement Venue

Step into a fairytale by eloping at the iconic Biltmore Estate. With its stunning architecture, sprawling gardens, and majestic mountain backdrop, the Biltmore provides a truly magical setting for your special day. Exchange vows in the charming Conservatory or amidst the vibrant blooms of the Walled Garden.

One of the biggest benefits of eloping at the Biltmore is access to the entire estate for photos. The Biltmore Elopement package includes overnight accommodations at the Biltmore Inn for the couple and up to 12 chairs for guests. This venue is perfect for couples looking for a timeless and elegant experience. 

2. Mount Pisgah: A Rustic Mountain Elopement

For couples seeking a rustic mountain elopement, Mount Pisgah is the perfect choice. Located along the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Pisgah offers sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and valleys below. 

Mount Pisgah is a great choice for couples looking to escape into the beauty of the parkway. Exchange vows atop the summit and celebrate your love amidst the tranquility of nature. Whatever season you choose to exchange your vows, you’ll be wow’d by its immense beauty. I highly suggest planning dinner afterwards at the Pisgah Inn to round out the celebration. 

3. Blue Ridge Parkway: A Romantic Drive-In Elopement

Embark on a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and discover countless picturesque spots to exchange vows. From overlooks with sweeping mountain vistas to secluded meadows, the possibilities are endless. 

Some of my favorite spots to photograph couples on the BRP are Black Balsam Knob, Craggy Gardens, and random overlooks that showcase the view. 

Remember: Wedding/elopement permits are not given for Rough Ridge, Beacon Heights, Linville Falls, Crabtree Falls, Craggy Gardens Pinnacle Trail, Graveyard Fields, Devil’s Courthouse, and Waterrock Knob. While you can take photos at these locations you may, sadly, not exchange rings. 

4. Asheville Botanical Gardens: A Tranquil Oasis

Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature at the Asheville Botanical Gardens. This peaceful oasis features lush gardens, winding trails, and serene water features. Choose a secluded spot to elope surrounded by blooming flowers, small streams, and verdant foliage.

Located only a few minutes from downtown Asheville, the Asheville Botanical Gardens offer a year round venue for small weddings and elopements. Permit required as well as a reservation by donation. 

5. The Omni Grove Park Inn: A Luxurious Elopement Experience
